Sunday Morning Pictures

We were really late for church this morning, so we just decided to delay longer by taking a bunch of pictures and just go to second service. (The kids are so rarely both dressed at the same time at home and we have a lot fewer pictures of Ethan, period.) Some of them turned out really cute. Enjoy :)

I feel for you with the sleep issues. Mackenzie was like Caleb-a good sleeper. Josiah was just like Ethan, except we were up EVERY 30 MINUTES through the night, no exaggeration. He was 10 months old and sleeping best (um, that is the 30 minute interval) only when sleeping right beside me (and nursing frequently). I'm with you on not letting them cry it out, but we were at our wits end. I could not go on any longer taking care of the two kids without sleep. We moved Josiah to his own room, in his crib, and let him cry. He cried for 20 minutes that first night. The second night he cried for 3 minutes. The third night he cried for 30 seconds. From then on he fussed for a few seconds, at most, and slept completely through the night unless he was teething. We did what worked for us in order to maintian sanity, though it was not our first pick of options. Seemed nothing else worked...
I hope that whatever you do, it works completely and quickly for you! Sleep is important, and YOU and your health are important to those two precious boys. Love ya, Rachel! Hang in there. You will find something that works for you.

I am a 35-year-old mother of four. I spent my first twenty-two years in a small town in central Arkansas, and married my college sweetheart a few months after graduation. He and I taught English together in Wuhan (China) for a year, and then moved to Florida so he could attend medical school. Caleb and Ethan were born while we were in Florida, Lydia was born during medical residency in Alabama, and Naomi was born here in Tennessee. We have been very blessed with friends and family along the way. The past few years, our family has put down some roots in our new home of Tennessee. Our children are the joy and the challenge of our lives, and this blog is mostly about them.
